Introduction

Regional Agency for Education, Integration and Democracy (RAA) Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
 
Is part of a nation-wide network of more than 40 agencies and works politically as well as denominationally independently. RAA Mecklenburg-Vorpommern incorporated society was founded in 1999 as an independent society. Apart from the coordination office in Waren (Müritz), two regional centres of democratic culture in Anklam and Ludwigslust belong to the agency as well as the Media Workshop Mecklenburgische Seenplatte.
 
The RAA is to be seen as an innovation and support agency for the development and advancement of the democratic culture of living together at school, youth work and in the community. We have a longtime as well as comprehensive knowledge of and professional competence in the education and counseling of teachers, school administrations, the staff of independent institutions of juvenile, educational and social works as well as communal administrations, of protagonists of local initiatives against right-wing extremism and last but not least of young people themselves.
 
The RAA initializes, develops and supports state-wide projects and educational work with children and adolescents and realizes innovative projects even in its own responsibility by cooperating closely with private and public partners, especially with foundations as well as with the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.  
 
Since 2008 the RAA is an officially recognized institution of further education. Chairman of the society is Prof. Dr. Franz Prüß from Güstrow/Greifswald.
